Dovetail Homes, LLC

Dovetail Homes is a real estate development and home building company that focuses on the urban renewal and redevelopment of core downtown Denver neighborhoods.  Our mission is a little different than most, as we take a buyer-focused approach to the traditional “fix and flip” model.  Yes, we buy run down old homes throughout the core of Denver, but through the combination of professional design/redesign and contemporary functionality we feel the homes we produce stand above the rest.  But don't take our word for it, take a look for yourself and let us know what you think!          

Design

When we acquire a new property we ask ourselves how can we make this house "Cool"?  With the answers and ideas that follow we take action and attempt to bring our vision for each home into reality.  

What is the best possible layout, design, and function of the overal space and each individual space within each home as well?  We are introduce design elements into each home that are unique.  Everything from Dual Master Suites to Wall-to-Wall Walk-in Showers with His and Her Heads, to Exposed Ductwork, Custom Spiral Staircases, Stone Fireplaces, Unique Lighting, and Top Tier Appliance Packages just to name a few. 

We also incorporate small details into our homes that most buyers wouldn’t recognize as significant until after moving in.  Things like Large Single-Bowl Kitchen Sinks for washing dishes or giving your infant or pet a warm bath, Whole House Stereo Systems with Speakers, Receiver, and Remote,  not to mention most homes come Pre-wired for Wall Mounted Flat Screens in the living room, study, master bath, and sometimes even the kitchen and master baths! 

Nothing is worse than watching the cable guy string cables on the outside of your brand new home!

A home that was built in 1890 or even 1950 was built with an entirely different buyer in mind than a home that is built today.  Closets were small and inefficient, a single bathroom was often times shared between the entire household of 5 or more, and many bedrooms weren’t designed to accommodate king beds, etc. 

In our signature series homes, the floor plan redesign is taken under careful consideration. A Signature Series Home is one that has been "gutted to the studs", which means removing all plaster, drywall, interior systems, etc. until only the bare studs remain and then rebuilding the home with all new materials from there.  By doing this we are able to work with essentially a blank canvas.  We determine a new layout that meets the demands of a contemporary buyer.  Vaulted ceilings are not uncommon in many of our homes, as well as larger master suites, often taking up the space of two of the previous bedrooms.  Doesn't your wardrobe deserve its own space to spread out and to grow?   That's what you can expect in most cases with our master suites!
   

A home should be a place where families are both started and celebrated; where entertaining friends and neighbors feels effortless and enjoyable.  That starts with a home that is both functional and open.  The segmented rooms of yester year are outdated.  With large open kitchens flowing into open dining and living rooms, most of our homes are great for entertaining or just having a Sunday brunch with your family at the kitchen bar.  Our homes have had the systems updated when necessary and in our signature series homes they have been replaced outright.  We want to make sure that when you go to turn on your shower it will work for years to come, as well as the electrical and heating systems. 

Our true business model is to recycle homes built 100 years ago and transform them into modern homes.  Our homes come with as many green applications as possible to include Efficient Toilets, Compact Florescent Light bulbs (CFLs), and Low VOC Paint and Carpet, among others.  Many developers would prefer to scrape the homes we choose to renovate, which would create more than 3 times the amount of waste compared to a typical renovation.  That’s 3 times the debris in our landfills!

Our strongest dedication to the future is our commitment to work within the core of Denver, revitalizing homes long since written off in a broad range of neighborhoods.  Increased property values and a stronger commitment to neighborhood maintenance often follow in our wake.  We are proud and honored to say we are revitalizing Denver one home at a time!
